The macerating unit is a pumping system designed to pump away waste and grey water from toilet, bathroom and kitchen fixtures.

The system comprises an electric pump (D) which drives the cutting blade and impeller (F) which is automatically controlled by a float switch(C). (See picture)

The discharge action is triggered automatically when the flushing system is activated, as with a conventional toilet. The unit can simultaneously receive wastewater from several sanitary fixtures, e.g. sink, shower, bathtub, urinal, but only one toilet per unit.
